Tom Grady ~ Saluting a Hero

I was so saddened to read the post by Tom’s brother of Tom’s passing on September 15.

Hello to all followers of Pack Mentality Blog and friends of Tom Grady:
We are so sad to tell you that Tom passed away on Sept. 15th after battling a glioblastoma brain tumor. There will be a Celebration of Life Service for him on October 1st. You will find the details at
Thank you for all of your expressions of sympathy.
- Mark Grady, Tom's brother
On behalf of Tom's wife, step-children and family.

A Celebration of Life for Tom Grady will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the Wrightsville Beach Park softball field. The park is located at 1 Bob Sawyer Drive, just off Causeway Boulevard at Wrightsville Beach, N.C.

I never met Tom in person, yet I consider him my friend.

Back in the earlier days, pre-Facebook, he stood shoulder to shoulder with all of us commenters on Racing articles.  Always staunch in his belief racing greyhounds was a thing of the past.

He was one of those instrumental in helping me set up my blog.  While it has been silent for some time, we will never go away, Tom.

He never lost his enthusiasm in fighting for the dogs and later many other animals and posted often in his blog Pack Mentality.

He fought a great fight for the animals, he fought the greatest fight against his cancer.

The world has lost a great warrior for the animals.  And many of us lost a dear friend.

Rest gently now, my friend.  It was an honor to have known you.
