This week in St. Louis, Missouri, news broke of 5
tortured dogs found. Dead. The discovery was by Stray Rescue of St.Louis after a call about a dog hanging out a window. The area this happened in is littered with
boarded up former homes/apartments. The
pathetic playground of very troubled individuals.
The story of the dogs, along with the images, is on the
nightly news and in the wires. I won’t
go into details because I cannot. It
brings me too much pain. But it can be read
at the link above.
As dog lover, I will admit to feeling utter rage at the
acts committed. And I pray those
responsible are found and charged. And
locked up, not just for what they did to these angels, but because what was
committed against these poor animals exposes a nature equally capable of doing
the same to a human.
Yet out of all this tragedy, human kindness rears its head. And its heart. And it is glorious.
Stray Rescue, out of their own strained coffers, was
offering a $5,000 reward to help capture those responsible. Within days, that reward jumped to $10,000,
with donations coming from around the U.S. and Canada.
Today, they received a 500 Euro donation from an animal
organization in the U.K.
I revel in the animal lovers’ community,
who opened their hearts and their wallets to help.
Overwhelming what people can do when they truly care.
Blessings to all.
