Greyhound Racing

I have spent some time commenting on articles in support of decoupling or even the outright ban of racing.  I believe in that strongly.

What amazes me is the outright boldness and outright personal attacks from the pro-racing folks.  They fit the standard profile.  If you can’t defend your stance, launch personal attacks.

Rarely are those successful.  And honestly, the more they launch personal attacks and not answer direct questions, the more they damage their “position” and credibility.  They have the ability and, apparently, the aptitude, of sinking their own cause by their own words.

It reminds me of Icarus, who I learned of young.  But Icarus became ecstatic with the ability to fly and forgot his father's warning. The feathers came loose and Icarus plunged to his death in the sea.

A metaphor, but it seemed appropriate.  Despite the blinders on the owners and breeders, your wax is melting.

There is no Phoenix in dog racing.
